Vincent Janssen looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, with Fenerbahce his likely destination.

According to reports, the Turkish club have announcd that Janssen will arrive at Istanbul airport this afternoon to continue discussions. It is expected that Janssen will move on loan.

Janssen’s days at Spurs looked to be numbered after he was omitted from the Champions League squad in favour of fellow striker Fernando Llorente, who made a deadline day move from Swansea City.

He was said to have turned down a loan move to Premier League newcomers Brighton just before the window shut and now it appears that he’ll be playing his football abroad this season.

The £18.5million signing has only scored six times for Tottenham in 38 appearances.

  1. Madness to let him go, firstly he is a team player, secondly history suggests he knows where the goal is and thirdly and most importantly he hasn't been really given a chance with us. A few mins here and there all the time knowing he is being judged is crazy….the guy is gonna be one helluva goal machine

  2. Massively disappointed. Fighting on three fronts this season, with Llorente in the squad, I thought we finally had the attacking depth we needed, and now we're loaning out Janssen? One step forward and one step back.

I understand he'll get some crucial game-time experience, but couldn't we have found something in England for him? So he can continue to adapt to the football in this country? Now, he'll spend an entire season acclimatising to Turkish football, only for him to arrive back at Spurs in a year's time even more out of his depth in England. Why was this a deadline-day decision?
