Jose Mourinho has provided a team news update to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Marine press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Mourinho answering questions prior to the trip to Crosby for Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash.
Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown restrictions meaning that journalists can no longer attend Hotspur Way in person.
The Northern Premier League Division One North West side secured a penalty shootout win over League Two outfit Colchester United in the first round, and scored a last minute winner in extra time against Havant & Waterlooville to secure the home tie against the North Londoners.
Mourinho has revealed that Gareth Bale has returned to training with the first team earlier today and it will be decided tomorrow whether the Welshman is included in the squad to face Marine.
Bale has expressed his desire to make the trip and play in the match, as documented by journalist Alasdair Gold on Twitter.
Mourinho on Gareth Bale: "He trained today for the first time with us and we'll decide tomorrow. It shows our respect to the competition that Gareth says he wants to go there on Sunday."
