Journalist explains Dele Alli absence from match day squad

Dele Alli was not named in the Tottenham Hotspur squad for this afternoon’s Premier League visit of AFC Bournemouth.

The news had Spurs fans fearing the worst that that midfielder could be sidelined for an extended period of time and with some crucial matches around the corner including the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea, it would have come at a terrible time.

However, there is some reassurance that Dele’s absence is not one for supporters to get too worried about after a respected journalist who covers Tottenham took to Twitter to provide some further detail.

The 22-year-old was substituted at half time during the victory at Goodison Park following a heavy challenge from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. He had earlier scored to put his side 2-1 ahead.

Dele was seen holding his hamstring following the incident and managed to play on for the remainder of the first period.

The form which Dele has shown this season has certainly silenced the critics.
