Tottenham Hotspur travel to Stoke City this evening looking to keep their hopes of a first piece of silverware in twelve years on track.
Jose Mourinho’s side head into the Carabao Cup fixture at the bet365 Stadium on the back of three matches without a win having drawn at Crystal Palace and suffered back to back defeats to Liverpool and Leicester City respectively.
Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick has taken to Twitter to hint that Mourinho is set to name a strong starting eleven to face the Championship outfit which may include Dele Alli and Gareth Bale.
Dele has struggled for regular first team football this season having featured in just 74 minutes of the Premier League campaign (transfermarkt) with most of his minutes coming in the Europa League.
Bale’s return to North London has also been slower than many would have hoped with the Welshman having just played in ten matches in all competitions, scoring two goals (transfermarkt).
Here is what Kilpatrick had to say on Twitter:
#thfc Not confirmed yet but told Dele & Bale set to be part of a strong Spurs XI at Stoke this evening.
