Journalist Jonathan Veal has revealed the reason why Gareth Bale is not in the Tottenham Hotspur squad today.
Jose Mourinho’s squad for the Premier League match at Crystal Palace was announced a short while ago and there was no sign of the Welshman in the starting lineup eleven or on the bench.
Bale featured from the start in Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Royal Antwerp and provided a stunning free kick at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which led to Carlos Vinicius’ opener.
Veal took to Twitter to reveal that Bale is currently suffering from illness but was quick to stress that it was not COVID-related.
Bale’s absence has saw a place on the bench freed up with Jose Mourinho deciding to include Dele Alli for the first time for two months in a Premier League match.
There was no place in the squad for Harry Winks or Carlos Vinicius.
