Journalist reveals the reason for Tanguy Ndombele’s absence against Arsenal

The Athletic journalist Charlie Eccleshare has taken to Twitter to reveal the reason why Tanguy Ndombele does not feature for Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

The Spurs squad which will face Arsenal in the North London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was revealed a short while ago and the Frenchman’s name was nowhere to be seen.

Eccleshare has revealed that the midfielder is understood to be ill, which has caused him to miss the North London derby.

Ndombele has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers this season having forced his way back into Jose Mourinho’s plans after a frustrating first season at the club following his record move from Lyon.

The 23-year-old played in Thursday night’s 3-3 draw against LASK in Austria, having been brought off in the 65th minute and had featured in all ten of Tottenham’s Premier League matches to date (transfermarkt).

Instead, Mourinho has named a midfield of Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojberg and Giovani Lo Celso.
