Journalist reveals what Spurs staff have been told about Wednesday’s match

Football journalist Alasdair Gold has taken to Twitter to provide an update surrounding Tottenham Hotspur’s fixture on Wednesday evening.

The North Londoners are scheduled to face Aston Villa away from home in their first Premier League match following the FA Cup action over the course of the weekend.

There is still doubt over whether Aston Villa are able to field a side to face Jose Mourinho’s men after having their training ground closed due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases in the squad and staff (BBC).

Villa fielded a side full of academy players in Friday’s 4-1 FA Cup defeat to Liverpool with the Premier League said to be more understanding of their plight as it would affect the competitive balance of the competition.

Gold revealed on Twitter that the match against Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is looking likely to happen and has been informed that stadium staff at the club’s state of the art ground have been told be ready to work at the match.
