Juventus boss Allegri makes negative comment about Tottenham

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has taken a pot shot at Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive capabilities.

Allegri was speaking after their 1-0 win against Lazio on Saturday in Serie A, where he claimed that Tottenham do not defend as well as Lazio.

It’s a silly comment from the Juventus boss without any fact when you consider that Spurs have conceded less goals and kept more clean sheets than Lazio, and have even played two extra matches.

If we get the first goal at Wembley on Wednesday night, it will mean that Juventus need to score two, due to the two away goals which we scored in Turin.  I’d love nothing more than to silence Allegri with a Spurs win after this arrogant and disrespectful comment, you would never catch Pochettino saying something like this.

Lazio defence:
Played – 27
Conceded – 34
Clean sheets – 8

Spurs defence:
Played – 29
Conceded – 24
Clean sheets – 14

Allegri told Premium Sport after the match: “We wanted to come away from Rome with a positive result and that’s what we got. They defended themselves very well and we knew that it was going to take something special to beat them.

“Dybala? Yes that special moment came from Paulo. He is a great young player and we are all happy that he scored. UCL? Tottenham are different compared to Lazio, they don’t defend as well.

“This win certainly helps our confidence as we will have to be good and lucky on Wednesday night. Dybala scored a big goal for us and for him, he is now ready to finish off this season on the right note. Our focus is now on Tottenham…”.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Stick the comment on the dressing room door. That will motivate the boys. Anyway, it’s not our defence that Juve need to be concerned about, it’s our high pressing game and glorious attacking flair. Having said that, watch out for the Old Lady and her 1-0 ‘steals’!

  2. They will not know what has hit them. Like I said before, It’s one thing watching a DVD of us and a world apart than coming face to face with us in rampant mode. City got a taste last season, utd, woowlich, Liverpool, Dortmund and Madrid all came and rendered nothing more than spectators. Juve are far to arrogant to really know how to prevent the onslaught so I am massively confident of a 3-1 slap. Europe will then sit up but again for anyone that has not played us will struggle. Barca, Munich and then City in the final. COYS! If we can’t dream now, then when?
