Juventus boss Allegri makes negative comment about Tottenham

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has taken a pot shot at Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive capabilities.

Allegri was speaking after their 1-0 win against Lazio on Saturday in Serie A, where he claimed that Tottenham do not defend as well as Lazio.

It’s a silly comment from the Juventus boss without any fact when you consider that Spurs have conceded less goals and kept more clean sheets than Lazio, and have even played two extra matches.

If we get the first goal at Wembley on Wednesday night, it will mean that Juventus need to score two, due to the two away goals which we scored in Turin. I’d love nothing more than to silence Allegri with a Spurs win after this arrogant and disrespectful comment, you would never catch Pochettino saying something like this.

Lazio defence:
Played – 27
Conceded – 34
Clean sheets – 8

Spurs defence:
Played – 29
Conceded – 24
Clean sheets – 14

Allegri told Premium Sport after the match: “We wanted to come away from Rome with a positive result and that’s what we got. They defended themselves very well and we knew that it was going to take something special to beat them.

“Dybala? Yes that special moment came from Paulo. He is a great young player and we are all happy that he scored. UCL? Tottenham are different compared to Lazio, they don’t defend as well.

“This win certainly helps our confidence as we will have to be good and lucky on Wednesday night. Dybala scored a big goal for us and for him, he is now ready to finish off this season on the right note. Our focus is now on Tottenham…”.
