Kane outlines where Spurs need to improve to go all the way in the Champions League

Tottenham will travel to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund tomorrow evening in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Spurs go into the game with a three-goal lead, knowing that a place in the last eight of the competition awaits them if they can see out the tie.

The Champions League comes as a welcome distraction for the club after the tough week they have had in the Premier League in which Spurs only took one point from a possible nine in the matches against Burnley, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

With Tottenham out of the title race, the Champions League represents the club’s only chance of winning some silverware this season. The odds for Champions League betting certainly does not have Spurs as one of the favourites to win the competition.

Star striker Harry Kane has insisted that while Spurs have shown that they can beat the big sides, they need to find a way to deliver in big games when the pressure is on.

Speaking to the Telegraph, the England captain said, “We have shown in certain games like last year against Real Madrid and this year against Barcelona that we can beat the big teams.

“The thing for us now is – like this week – when the pressure is on we need to find a way to step up and get it done. We haven’t done that in recent years, we haven’t done that this week and that has got to be the difference.”
