Defender has talks with Tottenham

FC Köln have confirmed Kevin Wimmer did travel to London to discuss personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old Austrian centre back has been watched by Spurs scouts on multiple occasions but a deal is not done

Sporting Director Jörg Schmadtke claims Wimmers a move to Spurs will not be easy as chairman Daniel Levy is “not known to throw money out the window.”

We all know that Levy likes to drive a hard bargain, but there is no doubt we need to bolster the heart of our defence. Younes Kaboul’s time at the club look to be coming to an end, while Vlad Chiriches has been linked with a move to Italy on a number of occasions.

Eric Dier has established himself as Pochettino’s preferred option to play alongside Jan Vertonghen and there is absolutely no doubt we need more quality in the position. Everyone seemed critical about Michael Dawson when he was at the club towards the end, but have we really moved on that much?
