Key Spurs playmaker wanted this month by European giant

The transfer window may be closed in England, but Tottenham Hotspur fans will have to endure speculation linking our players with a move to European clubs until the end of the month.

The window closed early in England this year ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign, however in leagues including Spain, Germany and France the window does not close until August 31st.

According to The Sun, Real Madrid are targeting a move for playmaker Christian Eriksen if former Spur, Luka Modric decides to join Inter Milan.

Eriksen has been identified as Madrid’s number one target to replace Modric, with Spurs desperate to tie the Dane down to a longer contract, with his current deal set to expire in just two year’s time.

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Tottenham’s opening win in yesterday’s Premier League opener against Newcastle United.
