Kranjcar to leave Spurs for big payday

Niko Kranjcar has suggested he could leave Spurs for Ukraine or Russia this summer.

The Croatian midfielder has not been a regular fixture in Harry Redknapp’s plans and admits the lure of big money in the east is tempting.

At least Kranjcar who only started nine Premier League games last season is honest in his intentions that money plays a significant part in his life. He knows himself he is behind Gareth Bale and Luka Modric so maybe it is best he moves on.

“In Russia and Ukraine playing football you can earn huge money,” Kranjcar told Croatian website Index.

“Whether we admit it or not, money is important.”

“Football in the east has progressed,” the 27-year-old added.

“The teams are always high up in the Champions League or are in the Europa League final. It’s not like it was 10 years ago.”
