Lawro and Merson on Spurs v Man City

Mark Lawrenson and Paul Merson have both given their ‘punditry predictions’ for Tottenham’s clash with Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

It’s hardly a surprise neither of them have backed a Tottenham win, regardless of who we play they always seem reluctant to tip Pochettino’s men to take all three points.  I have opted for a 1-0 Spurs win and used May’s TitanBet promo code to place the bet.

First up is Lawro, who told BBC Sport Online:

“Tottenham have tailed off a bit and their only win in their last four games came against Newcastle, who everyone beats at the moment.

“Spurs’ top-four hopes took a hit the same time as Liverpool and Southampton dipped too, probably much to the relief of Manchester City because they were wobbling at the time.

“City have not been too convincing either, although they have won their last two games to make sure of a top-four place. Their aim now must be to try to remain unbeaten until the end of the season.

Lawro’s prediction: 1-2″

Next up is Merson, who struggles to know the difference between his arse and his elbow on a daily basis.

He told Sky: “Both sides will go out and have a go for this one, making for an entertaining game.

“I think the season has cost Manuel Pellegrini his job. If you’re Manchester City, not winning the league, not winning any silverware with a team like that, you’re in trouble.

“Mauricio Pochettino, on the other hand, has done OK at Spurs so far. He fell across the team slightly, but has brought Kane in regularly, and introduced Ryan Mason into midfield.

“But they need a few players, a few more of his own players to make them into the team he wants.

“Merson’s prediction: 2-2.”
