Lawro gives his Man City v Spurs prediction

BBC Football pundit Mark Lawrenson has had his say on who he thinks will win this evening’s Premier League clash between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

City enter the game having won a successive 15 Premier League matches in a row which has made massive gulf of 18 points between Pep Guardiola’s side in first place and Tottenham in fourth place.

It will take a monumental effort, for us to come away with all three points in my opinion. Especially since we are without Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama. Anything less than a point will be a disappointment if we are to keep our hopes of playing Champions League football again next season alive.

He told BBC Sport Online: “It is really important for Tottenham that Mauricio Pochettino’s side acquit themselves well here. Spurs’ record under him in the big games, especially away from home, has been poor – just one win in 17.

“City have just been great and Tottenham will have to be at their best to hold them up – but I think they can be the team to do it.

“Lawro’s prediction: 1-1.”
