Lazio fined £32k for Spurs racism – What a disgrace

Lazio have been fined 40,000 euros (£32,500) by UEFA following racist chanting by their fans at White Hart Lane.

Considering the seriousness of the incident which took place in September during the 0-0 draw a fine of just £32,500 is an absolute joke. How can UEFA impose such a pointless fine when racism is dominating the spotlight.

UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Body took the decision on Thursday, although Lazio have up to three days to appeal against the fine if they feel the findings of the panel are unfounded.

The abuse which Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend endured was totally unacceptable, not only in football but in any aspect of life.

An absolute disgrace.
