Another week, another Leandro Damiao update

A week fails to pass without a story surrounding Leandro Damiao’s footballing future.

The Brazilian striker insists that he is remaining ‘calm’ with the amount of interest from potential European clubs in his services. Spurs have been heavily linked with the Internacional player for well over twelve months, but the player has rebuffed interest from N17.

It remains to be seen if Daniel Levy will make yet another bid for the 23-year-old in the summer, but will face stiff competition from the likes of Inter Milan.

Damiao told Globo Esporte: “I’m calm. I’ll certainly leave Internacional one day, but my focus at the moment is on the club.

“I hope to play in Europe one day, it’s a dream, but I am also in no hurry to leave. I have no reason to do anything crazy and leave quickly.

“I have had many chances to leave, but I have stayed. I want (any transfer) to be good for Internacional too.”

He added on rumours about his future: “They don’t bother me, they have been there since I started scoring goals.

“Since Tottenham became interested, I have been linked with clubs all over the world.

“When a player becomes more visible, these stories appear. I’m not thinking about where I’ll go.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

    • Why follow him so far? We've tailed him too long now. Please leave him alone. There are many good a player out there who would love to play for Spurs

  1. Doesn't want to come to England, forget this guy, let's look at players who want to come to the premier league

  2. If, in the unlikely event Damiao does come to us. I hope for his sake, he's as good as his built up to be.
I do think i'd rather have him than spend 15mil on Benteke mind.

  3. if Daniel Levy was wise he should of brought him in january for next season paid the 20 million end of and then we could off load adebayor and defoe at the end of the season we need at least 3 strikers at Spurs to make an impact in the EPL
