Ledley King makes encouraging Spurs prediction after defeat to Chelsea

Ledley King took to Twitter after Tottenham Hotspur’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg exit to Chelsea.

The Spurs legend revealed that he witnessed a great spirit among the players who are battling through despite the club’s mounting injury issues and believes that they are on the verge of success.

Key players for Spurs were missing through injury, including Harry Kane and Dele Alli while Heung-min Son is on international duty with South Korea.

The loss at Stamford Bridge means that Spurs have now won just one of their last six semi-finals (3 FA Cup, 3 League Cup).

Frustratingly, if were it not for a rule change, Mauricio Pochettino could be looking forward to a Carabao Cup final date against Manchester City.

If the tie against Chelsea had taken place last season and finished level at 2-2, the tie would have gone to extra-time and Tottenham would have gone through the away goal rule, which was abolished for this season.

Here’s what Ledley had to say on Twitter.
