Barcelona star Lionel Messi has admitted that he would love to play alongside the in-form Gareth Bale.

The Tottenham winger has become the talk of the footballing world following his fantastic form this season and the world’s best player has also taken notice of the Welshman.

Bale is constantly linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid, but it would take a bid well over £50million for Daniel Levy to even answer the phone to any potential suitors.

“Wayne Rooney and Gareth Bale are both great players, they are doing so well for their clubs,” the 25-year-old Argentine forward told the Daily Mail.

“And I always want to play with the best players.

“I have to be careful what I say because I can’t see them leaving their teams soon.

“But, of course, I want to play with the best players.”
