Listen: ‘Ndombele deal should be done’ – Journalist gives his take on saga

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is turning into one of this summers most talked about transfer sagas.

Some Spurs fans started to get excited last week when Sky Sports claimed that the north London side had agreed to a £65million deal with Lyon to land the French international.

However, hopes were somewhat dashed when Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas claimed that a deal has not yet been reached (RMC Sport).

Robin Bairner, a football journalist who extensively covers French football thinks Spurs might have to fend off interest from Juventus for Ndombele but insists Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still in the driving seat.

Opinion

If Spurs miss out on Ndombele, it would not only be a huge blow to our aspirations of competing for trophies it will also cause frustration among the fanbase towards Daniel Levy.

He needs to wrap up this deal soon and move onto other transfer targets.
