Listen: Paul Stewart believes former player would add ‘flair and seniority’ to Spurs

Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid has been the subject of intense media speculation over the course of the transfer window.

The Welshman left White Hart Lane in 2013 for a then world record fee of £85million (BBC) and despite winning four Champions League titles during his time with the Spanish giants, the return of Zinedine Zidane as manager saw him left out of some match day squads towards the end of the season (Guardian).

Former Spurs midfielder Paul Stewart believes that the 30-year-old would do an exceptional job if he returned to North London.

In reality, Bale’s staggering wages which are said to be around £600,000 a week make any potential return to Spurs almost impossible (Guardian).
