Liverpool mock Tottenham following recent 1-0 defeat

Liverpool have aimed a sly dig at Tottenham Hotspur in their official match day programme ahead of yesterday’s Premier League clash with rivals Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday and came away with a narrow 1-0 victory.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho decided to tweak his tactics by bringing in Japhet Tanganga for his top flight debut at the expense of Jan Vertonghen in order to inject more pace into the back line to deal with the threat of Mo Salah, Roberto Firminho and Saido Mane.

Tottenham had just 28 per cent possession during the match in North London which was decided by a first half goal from Firminho.

Liverpool produced a piece looking back on the match for their latest edition of the match day programme and appeared to mock Mourinho’s line up.

The piece suggested that Spurs operated a ‘4-6-0’ formation suggesting that the home side played without a forward in the absence of Harry Kane.
