Lloris proves once again with super save why he’s better than De Gea

For those who may have missed it or were at work, Hugo Lloris pulled off an absolute worldie of a save during France’s 2-0 World Cup quarter-final against Uruguay, yesterday.

With the score at 1-0 and just minutes before half time, Uruguay had a free-kick which was whipped into the penalty area and onto the head of Carceres, only for the French captain to superbly dive outstretched to his right to palm the ball away from the bottom corner.

We all know that Hugo has been guilty of the odd mistake in a Spurs shirt, but some fans are quick to forget that this absolute world class player has stuck with us through thick and thin. He joined us in August 2012 and had to endure three seasons of Europa League football when he could easily walk into any side in Europe.

While the Manchester United fans proclaim that David de Gea is the best keeper in the league, the Spaniard hardly made a save in their embarrassing World Cup display. Hugo is easily number one.
