Lloris returns, Rose to miss Stoke match

Tottenham Hotspur are boosted by the return of club captain Hugo Lloris for the trip to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

The Spurs goalkeeper suffered a hamstring injury in the opening day draw against Everton with Michel Vorm showing for once that he has been a capable deputy.

Talking of hamstrings, Spurs are set to be without Danny Rose for the match after he picked up a strain while on international duty in England’s 1-0 win against Slovakia on Sunday.

Rose has started the season in impressive form and is also likely to miss Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Monaco.  Ben Davies is expected to come in to start.

Pochettino told the official Spurs site: “Hugo is ready, he’s available to play and now I’ll decide. He’s in good condition to travel.

“Danny feels very disappointed after the game against Slovakia. You know, sometimes it happens in football and we hope it’s not a big injury and he can be ready as soon as possible, but he’s out for Saturday.”

To finish on a positive, the Stoke match is the last which Mousa Dembele will miss through suspension.
