Lord Sugar and Piers Morgan’s bet on the North London derby

Piers Morgan has challenged Lord Alan Sugar to a bet on the outcome of the North London derby.

Morgan who is an Arsenal fan has bet the former Tottenham Hotspur chairman £5,000 that Arsenal will be victorious at the Emirates, with the loser of the bet having to donate the money to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where seriously ill children receive life-saving treatment.

The shamed former editor of the Daily Mirror announced the challenge on Twitter, with Sugar suggesting that if the game ends in a draw that Morgan pays up since Arsenal are playing at home.

The good news for Sugar is that Spurs have won their last seven Premier League London derby matches – only once have they ever had a longer such run in the top-flight (8 between October 1950 and August 1951). However, we have failed to win a match at the Emirates since November 2008.

A win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side wouldn’t just gain the North London bragging rights, but also extend our points difference over the Gunners in the league to six and also end their seventeen match unbeaten run.
