Lord Sugar makes controversial Arsene Wenger plea on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur’s troubles continued on Saturday following another toothless performance which saw them condemned to yet another defeat.

There were hopes before the match from supporters that they would see some fighting spirit from the players after being humiliated by Bayern Munich in midweek, but were second best to Brighton all over the pitch.

Spurs were once again the masters of their own downfall when Hugo Lloris’ mistake saw the Seagulls go ahead after three minutes.

Former chairman Lord Sugar took to Twitter to reply to a Tweet from The Mirror where they claimed that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was considering a job offer to return to football.

Sugar responded by suggesting that the 69-year-old who left the Emirates in 2018 should make the move across North London and join Tottenham.

It is a hugely controversial statement to make considering the rivalry between the two clubs, however, Sugar was in charge when he appointed former Arsenal boss George Graham as the man in charge at White Hart Lane in 1998.
