Lord Sugar perfectly sums up Tottenham’s defeat to Liverpool

Lord Sugar has taken to Twitter to sum up Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Liverpool in the final of the Champions League.

Tottenham were making their first appearance in European football’s premier showpiece and frustratingly came up short against Jurgen Klopp’s side with Mohamed Salah’s early penalty and a late Divock Origi effort securing a sixth European Cup for the Reds.

Liverpool were awarded a spot-kick after a matter of seconds when Sadio Mane kicked the ball into Moussa Sissoko’s arm, who had it raised in an awkward position with referee Damir Skomina pointing to the spot.

The former Spurs chairman also accused Liverpool of attempting to slow down the game once they had a one goal advantage and Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed to create many clear cut chances in the first 75 minutes of the match.

Spurs dominated possession and even with Harry Kane back in the side, they struggled to break down Liverpool defensively and often were lacking that final pass of quality.

Here’s what Sugar had to say.
