Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane comments on Gareth Bale to Spurs reports

Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane has commented on speculation that Gareth Bale could be set to leave the club and complete a stunning return to his former club.

Tottenham Hotspur believe that they have made a breakthrough in the negotiations to sign Gareth Bale.

The Times reported earlier this morning that Spurs believe that they had made progress in talks to sign the Welsh international.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was said to have made the trip to Spain to discuss a deal with Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Zidane was asked for his comment on the speculation at a press conference this morning and has poured cold water on the speculation.

The Madrid boss has insisted that he expects the 30-year-old to remain at Los Blancos and added that he continues to be part of his plans.

Bale is expected to be named in the squad for the Madrid derby this weekend against Atletico.

Zidane was quoted by The Mirror as saying: “Gareth is here with us and I am counting on him.

“I am not contemplating this possibility.”
