Man Utd to make a January £40m Rose swap offer

Manchester United will make a January offer of £40m for full-back Danny Rose and offer Luke Shaw as part of the deal.

The Tottenham Hotspur player was left out of yesterday’s squad for the north London defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates, with Mauricio Pochettino claiming that the player was instead ‘training’ to increase his fitness.

Rose has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of months which gained more fuel following his now notorious interview with The Sun, where he publically stated his intention to play his football in the north of England.

On a similar note, Luke Shaw, who has failed to hold down any sort of regular football under Jose Mourinho has also publically stated his desire to play his football once more under Mauricio Pochettino, following their successful spell together at Southampton.

He was quoted in the book Brave New World: Inside Pochettino’s Spurs as saying: “He made me feel that I was the best. He’d show me clips of my games and say, ‘You could do this better’. Not in a horrible way. Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better.

“I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible. We were one of the best footballing teams in the league… I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again.”
