Man Utd team news vs Spurs: Two set to miss trip to North London

Manchester United have held an early press conference ahead of their trip to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the restart of the Premier League tomorrow evening.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba are both in contention to play after recovering from long-term injury problems with the Norwegian suggesting that he is yet to decide for how long they will be able to feature for.

The Old Trafford outfit are likely to be without the services of central defender Phil Jones and fellow defender Axel Tuanzebe who have both not featured during United’s ‘pre-season’ training camp.

Pogba could make his first appearance in 176 days and first start for United in 263 days following his recovery from ankle surgery.

United beat Spurs 2-1 earlier in the season when a stunning equaliser from Dele Alli proved not to be enough with Marcus Rashford netting a goal in each half for the home side.

“Yeah we’ve got a couple of injuries,” Ole told the club’s official website.

“Axel will probably be missing and Phil Jones will be missing. Apart from that I would say everyone else is available for selection.

“Pre-season you want to give everyone a chance, everyone the same opportunity to stake a claim for the team. Everyone will play a part, we’ve got plenty of games. Hopefully we’ve got a few cup games, plus the league games and hopefully the Europa League, so we’ll be going into August some time.”
