BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has had his say on who he thinks will win tomorrow’s Premier League encounter between Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Last time out, Lawrenson incorrectly predicted that Spurs would draw 1-1 against Liverpool, when in fact it ended up as a 2-1 victory for his former side at Wembley.
Tottenham will be looking to end Mauricio Pochettino’s worst run of form whilst in charge of the club, having suffered three successive defeats. Frustratingly, most of the goals have come from set pieces or late in a match.
We are taking comfort in the fact that Spurs have only failed to find the net once in their previous 15 matches against Brighton in all competitions.
Lawrenson, however, is predicting yet more frustration for Pochettino’s players.
“Tactically, Spurs were naive at Wembley and the Reds could have been three or four goals up in the first half.
“Going to Brighton will be a different test, but this is definitely not an easy game.
“The Seagulls are earning a reputation as being this season’s comeback kings, after fighting back from 2-0 down to get a draw in their past two matches.
“They will relish the visit of Spurs after beating Manchester United at home in August and will fancy their chances of getting something out of this game too.
“Lawro’s prediction: 1-1”
