Two first half goals from Harry Kane ensured that Tottenham Hotspur won their third successive match in a row.

A victory was critical for Mauricio Pochettino’s side ahead of Wednesday’s massive Champions League clash against Barcelona from a confidence perspective.

It took 25 minutes for the deadlock to get broken at Huddersfield. Lucas Moura should have had a penalty when he was brought down in the penalty area but got back to his feed and crossed to Kane who made no mistake with his header.

The striker got his second just nine minutes later from the penalty spot. Kane stepped up confidently and smashed the ball into the corner with Jonas Lossl having dived the wrong way.

The second half was a slightly quieter affair with neither side being able to find the back of the net.
