Mauricio Pochettino’s blunt answer to question about Christian Eriksen’s future

Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season with a surprise 1-0 loss to Newcastle United.

It was a toothless performance from Tottenham, from one to eleven in a match where they rarely looked to threaten the Magpies goal.

Mauricio Pochettino decided to drop Christian Eriksen from his starting eleven in place of Heung-min Son and Spurs struggled to show any creativity in the final third of the pitch.

Eriksen was introduced in the 62nd minute in place of the injured Kyle Walker-Peters but was unable to influence the match.

After the loss, Mauricio Pochettino was asked by a reporter about whether Eriksen has played his last game for the club, with the European transfer window closing on September 2nd and was in no mood for such a question.

With or without Eriksen, Spurs must now dust themselves off and get ready for the North London derby away to Arsenal next Sunday.
