Michael Owen on who will win between Manchester City and Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are on the road for the first time in the Premier League this season on Saturday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side make the trip to the Etihad Stadium to face champions Manchester City which will certainly prove to be a tough test, even this early in the season.

Tottenham made fans wait nervously to get all three points from the opening match against Aston Villa after the newcomers took the lead in the ninth minute, with home side only making the breakthrough in the final fifteen minutes

City will certainly pose a much tougher threat to Tottenham after they demolished West Ham 5-0 last weekend.

Spurs will be once again without Dele Alli, who is sidelined with a hamstring problem while Heung-min Son and Juan Foyth serve the last of their three match suspension.

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes that Spurs will suffer their first defeat of the campaign against Pep Guardiola’s side.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs have won more Premier League games (37) having been behind at halftime than any other club in the history of the competition after three goals in the last 17 minutes was enough to give them the points against Villa. But they will have to improve if they are to worry the champions.

“City were irresistible at the London Stadium and have now won their last 15 PL games. Spurs are likely to play their part in what promises to be a wonderful game at the Etihad, but I think it will be City who go marching on.”
