Michael Owen on who will win between Spurs and Sheffield United

Former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen has given his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Sheffield United.

Spurs return to Premier League action tomorrow afternoon following the 4-0 against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are without a win in four Premier League games (D2 L2), having last had a longer run earlier this year (5 games in February/March). In 2017 and 2018 combined, the Lilywhites only had one winless run of 4+ Premier League games (November/December 2017).

The Blades have had a respectable start to the campaign and find themselves three points ahead of Tottenham in the table.

Spurs will be once again without Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela with the trio all sidelined through injury.

Owen believes that it will be Tottenham who will take all three points from the match in North London and has also backed them to keep a clean sheet for the second game in succession.

He told BetVictor: “Sheffield United are unbeaten on the road in the league so far this season but I expect Spurs to end that proud record on Saturday although they won’t have things all their own way against a Blades side who have been a revelation so far this term.

“Spurs cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to mount a serious challenge for a top-four spot and Mauricio Pochettino will hope to be able to call on the services of Harry Kane who missed Sunday’s draw on Merseyside through illness.

“Tip: Spurs to win to nil.”
