Michael Owen predicts whether Tottenham can beat Burnley

Michael Owen hs tipped Tottenham Hotspur to a comfortable home win against Burnley this weekend.

Both sides meet in the Premier League at Wembley on Saturday afternoon with either side looking to secure the win for different reasons.

Burnley ended a two-month winless run with a 1-0 victory over Brighton last weekend.

A victory for Tottenham would put pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City in our bid for another top four finish, while Burnley’s poor start to the season has seen them slip to 17th in the table.

Spurs have lost just one of their eight games against Burnley in the Premier League (W5 D2), with that lone defeat coming back in May 2010 (2-4 defeat under Harry Redknapp).

The defensive quintet of Kieran Trippier, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier will be assessed prior to the game and could provide a welcome boost with fresh legs following the tense trip to Barcelona on Tuesday evening.

Owen told BetVictor: “Burnley picked up a valuable three points at home to Brighton last weekend, but they continue to struggle away from Turf Moor, having picked up just six points from their last ten away league games.

“Spurs’ confidence will be sky-high as a result of their 1-1 draw in Barcelona midweek, a result which ensured all four PL sides would be in Monday’s draw for the last 16 of the Champions League. A comfortable home win for me.”
