Michael Owen shares his Manchester United v Spurs prediction

Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of his former side Manchester United facing Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow evening.

Both sides have had a less than impressive start to the new Premier League campaign with United occupying ninth place and Spurs up to fifth having won their last two matches.

Jose Mourinho returns to his former employers nearly a year after being sacked from his post.

Owen believes it will be a case of Mourinho having to settle for a point from the clash at Old Trafford in a scoring draw.

He told BetVictor: “United shared four goals and the points with Villa on Sunday and it would not surprise me if we saw a similar result midweek when Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford for the first time since being sacked as United manager 12 months ago.

“Both teams have scored and conceded in their last four games while Spurs have shipped two goals in all three fixtures since the Portuguese boss replaced Mauricio Pochettino in north London. It promises to be a terrific occasion and one I see finishing with honours even.

“Tip: Game to finish in a scoring draw.”

Opinion

While Mourinho will be pleased to have seen his new side having won all three of their opening fixtures, the fact that they continue to concede goals is still a concern.

Olympiacos, West Ham and Bournemouth all found the back of the net twice against the Champions League finalists and is something which needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
