Harry Winks has hinted on social media that he is nearing a return to fitness after his latest injury problems.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder managed just 16 starts last season in an injury-hit campaign which saw him miss out on selection to England’s World Cup squad, after being tipped for inclusion at the start of the season.
Winks, 22, missed Tottenham’s tour of the USA and participation in the International Champions Cup after continuing his rehabilitation following surgery on his ankle.
He spent part of the summer doing his rehab at a private medical clinic in Marbella in a bid to fit for the start of the season and it looks as if he will be back in a Spurs shirt sooner rather than later.
Boyhood Spurs fan, Winks signed a new five-year contract in May which keeps him at the club until 2023.
