Midfielder set to sign new Spurs deal

Tottenham Hotspur are set to reward Harry Winks with a new double-your-money deal, according to The Times.

The midfielder who earned his first senior England cap on Sunday will now be rewarded by the club, who set milestones for their players.

Winks signed his current contract in February and has four-and-a-half years to run on the deal. When he puts pen to paper on his new deal, he will earn £40,000-a-week.

The 21-year-old has been on the books at Spurs since he was 12 and has been dubbed the “little Iniesta” for his impressive displays in the middle of the park and the fact his grandparents are Spanish.

Winks made 33 appearances for Spurs last season, with the majority coming from the bench. Expect him this season to push on and hold down a regular first-team place.
