Tottenham Hotspur fans have been taking to Twitter to express their views following the 4-1 defeat to Girona in our last pre-season fixture before we get down to business against Newcastle United next Saturday..

While some fans expressed their sheer frustration at the performance, others offered a balanced view by pointing out that we were missing so many of our senior players whilst some just decided to vent at chairman Daniel Levy for not putting his hand in his pocket.

It started so well for Mauricio Pochettino’s side when Lucas Moura fired Spurs ahead in the first half with a well-placed free-kick, but the young Spurs side allowed the La Liga outfit back into the game and they took full advantage.

In all honesty, it could have been more than four. Here’s a selection of reaction from the Spurs fan base.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. What on earth was the point of all these silly preseason games?

    What a waste of time.

Spurs need to focus on getting rid of all their donkeys and bringing in some class replacements.

  2. Such games best kept Private away for moral of new players and fans prior to big games . Not the loss but proves our bench is not a game changer with majority desirable youth !
