Mourinho insists he will not make the same mistakes at Spurs

Jose Mourinho has this afternoon met with the press for the very first time as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Manchester United in December of last year where he won the League Cup and Europa League but was unable to help the Old Trafford outfit close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool.

He insisted that he will not make the same mistakes as he has experienced previously, but will instead make new mistakes as part of his evolution as a manager.

After putting the squad through their paces on the training pitch for the last two days, he believes that the players can see that he is motivated to succeed at the club.

With the team suffering from indifferent form during the current campaign, he is also ready to support the playing staff and look to turn around their fortunes, which begins with a trip across the capital on Saturday against West Ham.

He told Football.London: “ I’m not going to make the same mistakes. I’m going to make new mistakes. I’m going to be stronger.

“From an emotional point of view I’m relaxed, motivated and ready and I think the players felt that these two days. I’m ready and I’m here to support them. In life you go through periods like this, where it’s not about myself, it’s about my players and my club.”
