Musacchio: Tottenham’s offer not good enough

Mateo Musacchio claims to have snubbed a Tottenham switch as the terms on offer were unacceptable to him and Villarreal.

The 24-year-old revealed that he decided to stay at the La Liga outfit after Tottenham’s offer did not live up to his expectations.  We all know what Daniel Levy is like with his purse strings, so he was probably driving a bargain once again.

Instead Mauricio Pochettino turned his attention to Sevilla’s Federico Fazio who penned a four-year deal at White Hart Lane.

Musacchio told Estadio Deportivo: “I’m fine here. I never said I wanted to leave and I never forced the situation.

“This is my home. I’ve been here since I was very young, I am comfortable here and for that reason I didn’t feel the need to leave.

“When you get offers they have to be good for the club and for the player. In this case it wasn’t good enough for either, so in the end it didn’t happen and I’m carrying on here.

“My head is here. I was always certain that I would continue to give 100 per cent, like I always have.”
