New Spurs stadium developers release construction update

Tottenham Hotspur stadium developers, Mace have posted a construction update through the doors of the properties surrounding the new Spurs stadium area in N17.

Titled ‘Construction Newsletter – Spurs Stadium Project April 2018’, the newsletter covers the following:

Site progress

The project reached a significant milestone with the commencement of the stadium roof lift. The stadium roof is a cable net structure with a compression ring around its perimeter.

With the roof lift now in place, over the next two weeks, the cables will be lifted into position and subsequently, the roof will be covered with 287 glass roof sections and 180 cassettes.

South Stand works

You may have noticed that the South Stand works have visually changed the site. We are now installing the final decking on the podium of the South Stand. This will be followed by the glazing works on the back of the South Stand that will form an acoustic barrier between the construction works in the stadium and our neighbours.

Retractable pitch

As mentioned in the last newsletter, the new stadium’s retractable pitch is comprised of 99 pitch trays which are delivered in sections and compiled on site. The final phase of tray deliveries has commenced and is scheduled to be completed by the end of April. Over the next few weeks we will be receiving 60 pitch trays with three arriving each night.

External works

The preparation works for paving and road finishes around the surrounding stadium have now commenced. The majority of the works will take place inside the site hoarding. You may notice some minor changes to the site hoarding line as we progress with these works.

Internal finishes

Over the next three months we will continue with the internal finishes to the stadium. The installation of the toilets, kitchen areas and bars as well as the mechanical and electrical works throughout the building will also continue.
So there we have it, that’s what will be happening with the stadium over the next few weeks and months. Do you think it will be ready in time for next season?
