The Tottenham Hotspur team that faces Aston Villa this evening was announced just a short time ago.
Spurs fans have already started to react to Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection on Twitter.
The manager has made quite the statement by dropping Christian Eriksen with the Dane having to take his place among the substitutes.
Eriksen made his intentions clear shortly after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool that he wanted to leave North London and invited interest from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet). Unfortunately for Eriksen, a move has failed to materialise and he now must watch the game from the touchline.
There is also no place in the squad for new signing Giovani Lo Celso who has only had one training session with his new club while Jan Vertonghen is also missing from the team.
Elsewhere, Tanguy Ndombele is handed his full Premier League debut.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the team news.

No, this is mostly bad news. No Vertonghen? Eriksen benched, he’s 100% gone? N’Koudou still making the bench ahead of literally anyone else ever?
