Parker praises “unplayable” Lennon

Scott Parker beleives that Aaron Lennon is in the form of his life and has described his recent displays as “unplayable”.

The Spurs winger has been absolutely superb this campaign and his recent performances against Sunderland and Reading have shown that he has stepped up to become a leader.

Previously a lot of people have been too focused on Lennon’s “end product” but under AVB, the winger has really flourished and just how well did he take his goal against Sunderland?

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed by Parker who has been watching from the sidelines from the majority of the season.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “Is this the best he’s ever played? Yes, I think that’s fair.

“Over the last four or five weeks he’s been unplayable really. He was at a different level [against Reading], not just because of his raw pace and his threat on and around the ball, but his work-rate was something very special.

“I couldn’t think of anything worse if I was a full-back than having him running at me – and I’m sure every full-back out there has the same feeling. He deserves a special mention, he has been brilliant.”

He continued: “You can see that he’s been working hard on his final ball, with the amount of times he gets to that by-line – and he set up the goal yesterday.

“He probably could have set up another couple if they had fallen for the right people. He has certainly added that to his game, which is pleasing.

“Everyone knows what qualities we have out wide, and [Gareth] Bale and Azza [Lennon] have been at the top of that. I think Gareth is a fantastic player and sometimes he gets all the headlines, but Azza has been key to that as well.”
