Paul Merson on whether Spurs can come away from Fulham with a win

Paul Merson has had his say on whether Tottenham Hotspur can cope without Harry Kane and co for the match against Fulham on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino will be without the services of Kane until the beginning of March and his striking issues have been increased with the absence of Heung-min Son who is currently taking part in the Asian Cup for South Korea and could be in the UAE until early February.

There are also issues in midfield after Moussa Sissoko was ruled out for around two weeks with the groin injury he picked up last Sunday in the loss to Manchester United, which leaves Harry Winks as our most experienced, fit central midfielder.

Eric Dier has returned to training following his appendix operation but will not start, which leaves a potential midfield pair of Winks and young Oliver Skipp.

Merson, however, believes that Spurs can still get a result against the Premier League strugglers.

He told Sky Sports: “Before the Harry Kane news, this game would have been a foregone conclusion. However, it’s a different story now. Fulham have every chance.

“Spurs have lost so many goals from their team with Kane and Heung-Min Son, plus Moussa Sissoko is also missing – I’m not his biggest fan but he’s been strong this season.

“Fulham could get something….but I’m leaning just towards Spurs.

“Prediction: 1-2.”
