Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has given his prediction on who he thinks will win the Premier League match between Watford and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Both sides go into the match at Vicarage Road with 100% records from their opening three league encounters and Merson believes that Tottenham will comfortably sweep aside the Hornets.
After an impressive win at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Monday night, Merson feels there is more to come from Maurcio Pochettino’s side who have enjoyed recent success in their matches against Watford.
Whilst on paper, I’m sure we would all expect, with the greatest respect to Watford that we should pick up the win, I don’t think it will be as convincing as to what Merson makes out it will be.
He told Sky Sports: “Spurs have to cement what they did on Monday at Old Trafford. You can’t go to Manchester United and win and then drop points, or even lose, at Watford. It’ll be a tough game for Spurs but they normally do well there and have ripped them to shreds in the past.
“Watford have started well, they were my team to go down but they’ve got virtually a quarter of the points they need already and we’re three weeks into the season. They’ve got a bit more about them than Huddersfield, who started well and stayed up last season. They’ve got players who can do something in a game, like Roberto Pereyra and Troy Deeney.
“Prediction 0-3.”
