Former Chelsea central defender John Terry has taken a dig at Tottenham Hotspur on his Instagram account.

Terry was offering his followers the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session when a Spurs fan commented with ‘Tottenham Hotspur forever’.

The 38-year-old replied with am Emoji of a trophy along with a pair of eyes to highlight the lack of silverware at the North London club in recent years.

Tottenham’s last trophy came eleven years ago when they beat Chelsea in the final of the League Cup at Wembley in 2008, when Jonathan Woodgate’s injury-time header gave Juande Ramos’ side a 2-1 victory of which ironically, Terry was in the losing side.

Spurs recently missed out on a place in the Carabao Cup final after losing a penalty shoot-out at Stamford Bridge but are seven points ahead of the Blues in the Premier League table.

While admittedly Spurs are well overdue a trophy, they could have the last laugh at the end of the season when Chelsea are playing Europa League football at best in the next campaign.
