Harry Kane and Dele Alli are among the first Tottenham Hotspur playing staff to post a statement on behalf of the Premier League players.

The statement which carriers the hashtag #playerstogether has revealed that top flight footballers have created a voluntary trust fund which will be utilised to distribute money to help support the fight against COVID-19 in the country.

Players Together have collaborated with the NHS Charities Trust which will help to generate funds to help the NHS front line.

Other players who are part of the movement include Serge Aurier, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela, Paulo Gazzaniga, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Fernandinho, Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire.

The Premier League had proposed a 30% pay cut, only for the Professional Footballers’ Association to highlight that may harm the NHS which has now led to the formation of Players Together (BBC).

A video conference involving all Premier League’s 20 captains took place earlier this week, with Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson at the forefront, and each club’s PFA representative has taken place this week along with calls involving smaller groups of players (Daily Mail).
