Heung-min Son was back in impressive form last night when he helped Tottenham Hotspur to a 5-0 victory against Red Star Belgrade.

The South Korean netted twice in the first half and was his usual energetic self, his second goal was particularly impressive when he showed his electric pace after beating the Serbian defender to the ball despite having a considerable disadvantage.

Mauricio Pochettino decided to bring Son off after 68 minutes to allow Eric Dier to have a rare run out with the game beyond the visitors at 4-0.

Former Spurs defender Kevin Wimmer, who is known to have a close friendship with Son took to social media after the match to reply to the 27-year-old’s Instagram post where he suggested that the Ballon d’Or award is incoming (Standard).

Son was nominated for the prestigious football award earlier this week along with Hugo Lloris and joins the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk on the 30-man shortlist (Standard).

Here is what Wimmer had to say.
