Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has paid a visit to the legendary Diego Maradona.

Pochettino returned to his native Argentina following his dismissal following five and a half years in charge in North London.

The 47-year-old guided Spurs to their first ever Champions League final appearance in June but was out of work a matter of months later following a poor start to the new season.

Pochettino has already visited his former club Newell’s Old Boys late last month and revealed in an interview with Fox Sports Argentina that he is ready to listen to offers for his next managerial project (Fox Sports Argentina).

With Diego Maradona currently in charge at Gimnasia, Pochettino was spotted on camera in a warm embrace with the footballing superstar in a post on Twitter.

Gimnasia, who are struggling in the Argentinean top flight, recorded a 2-1 victory against Cordoba yesterday to give them just their fourth win in sixteen matches this season.

Maradona was a team-mate and room-mate of Pochettino’s at Newell’s Old Boys and made the trip to London in 2017 to watch Spurs beat Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley (Mirror).
